An Experience Advocate Focused on Helping Families Move Forward

Jason has spent his legal career standing up for people when the stakes feel highest. After earning his business degree from Eastern Michigan University, he graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2013 and spent the early years of his career in litigation, representing consumers in automobile warranty disputes. In 2019, he turned his focus to serving individuals and families directly. As the only attorney in Legal Services of Northern Michigan's Sault Ste. Marie office, he handled cases across Chippewa, Mackinac, and Luce counties, most of them family law and housing matters. He then joined Legal Aid of Western Michigan in St. Joseph, where he handled family law cases from first filing through bench trial, led the organization's consumer law practice group, and served as interim managing attorney for his office.

Jason takes pride in finding creative solutions to difficult problems and, whenever possible, resolving cases without the cost and stress of trial. When a case does need to go before a judge, he is ready. He has successfully represented survivors of domestic violence at trial and helped clients through complex relocation disputes. He believes clients deserve an attorney who listens, communicates clearly, and gives practical guidance, so they feel heard, informed, and supported from start to finish.

Jason's commitment to his community extends well beyond the courtroom. From 2020 to 2023, he served on the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly for the 50th Circuit (Chippewa County). He currently serves on the board of Southwest Bridge Health, a free clinic in Benton Harbor that provides medical care to uninsured residents. Alongside his fellow board members, he helped take the clinic from an idea to a physical location in just over seven months.

Outside the office, Jason is a proud girl dad who loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, their rescue dog, and their Maine Coon. When he isn't practicing law, you can find him on the golf course or cheering on the Detroit Lions from his season ticket seats.
