Experienced Insight for Complex Family Matters

Lisa brings more than 15 years of family law experience to Your Path Family Law, with a background that includes both trial court and appellate matters. From 2011 through 2018, she operated her own law firm in Ferndale, Michigan, and she has been part of the Your Path Family Law team in various capacities since 2020.
Throughout her career, Lisa has developed particular experience with complex and evolving areas of family law, including domestic violence, parentage, and LGBTQ+ family matters. She was one of the first attorneys in Michigan to take a Revocation of Paternity matter to court and was the first attorney to complete a same-sex divorce in Oakland County. These experiences have given Lisa a unique perspective on family law and the ways it continues to evolve alongside the families it serves.
Today, Lisa focuses her work on the research, analysis, and writing behind complex legal issues. Her extensive family law experience allows her to dig deeply into challenging legal questions and provide thoughtful, well-researched support to the firm's attorneys and clients.
Lisa earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, after receiving her undergraduate degree in creative writing from Michigan State University. Her background in both law and writing is a natural fit for the detailed legal research and analysis that are now central to her work.
Lisa currently lives in Burbank, California, and works remotely with Your Path Family Law on a part-time basis.
