Mikayla Campbell
Senior Attorney
A Knowledgeable Advocate Experienced in Helping Survivors of Domestic Violence

Mikayla is a Michigan State University Alumnus, whose desire to be an attorney sparked young, even though she would be the first in her family. Mikayla studied Political Science - Prelaw at MSU, where the Legal Internship Program facilitated Mikayla’s internship with Judge Aquilina of the 30th Circuit Court. Here, Mikayla was able to bear witness to the judge’s genuine empathy toward the survivors of Doctor Larry Nassar. Her time with Judge Aquilina reaffirmed for Mikayla what she already knew: she wanted to be the one standing by individuals as they navigated trauma through the legal process.
Following Mikayla’s first year of law school, she interned with the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence and enrolled in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute at Michigan State University College of Law. Through this institute, Mikayla found that she wanted to be the bridge between what the client needed and the court understanding. Time with the Ingham County Circuit Court and the Michigan Court of Appeals gave Mikayla the background in research and writing essential to effective advocacy. These experiences have given Mikayla a foundational understanding of how Michigan’s courts apply the law.
Between bar passage and landing at Your Path Family Law, Mikayla served as Staff Attorney at YWCA Kalamazoo. Serving in this role provided Mikayla with her initial exposure to family law, allowing her to advocate for survivors of domestic violence who were navigating divorce and custody in unsafe situations. Through this experience, Mikayla realized that family law is exactly where she would be able to offer the support to people that she went to law school looking to provide.
